The Story
In celebration of our 10th birthday, we are pampering your senses with limited editions batches of the beloved Oriental Beauty.
A masculine expression of Taiwan's most precious tea. This Oriental Beauty is made from the Bai Lu cultivar (TTES #17) instead of the traditional Qingxin da mao, revealing a particularly aromatic and woodsy dimension. The aroma is a lot less perfumy than the classic interpretation. Drinking this tea feels like a foliage hike in the Hudson Valley. Makes you want to cozy up by a fireplace.
When the Bai Lu leaves are bitten by the tea jassid and undergo heavy oxidation, the result is a medium bodied oolong tea with scents of rain-soaked cedar, pecan skins and dehydrated lychee. It is calming and nourishing, much like a soft Shetland blanket.
